Japanese Drop Beads

From Miyuki and Toho of Japan, a range of 5 different styles of drop shaped seed beads – from smallest to largest:

• 2.8mm are the smaller size of drop beads made by Miyuki measuring 2x2.8mm with a hole size of .65mm. These dainty teardrop shaped seed beads are excellent for fringe or accents in bead weaving designs. Count is approximately 36 beads per gram.
• 3.4mm Miyuki drop beads are seed beads shaped like a tiny teardrop with the hole at the narrow top end of the bead. Color-lined 'Fancy' drops are especially popular. Drop beads measure 3mm x 3.4mm with a hole size of .65mm. Count is approximately 18 beads per gram
• 4mm Miyuki Magatama beads (MA4) aren't as rounded as drops and have an earthy natural feel as well as a slightly flatter area at the top of the bead. They measure 4mm x 4mm with a hole size of 1mm. Count is approximately 12 beads per gram.
• 4x7mm Miyuki long magatama beads are cut at a slight angle from back to front and they have a beautiful leaf-like shape. Long magatamas measure 4mm x 7mm with a hole size of 1mm. Count is approximately 8 beads per gram.
• 3x5.5mm Miyuki long drop beads (LDP) are shaped like grains of rice with the hole at one end of the bead. Long drop beads measure 3mm x 5.5mm with a hole size of .8mm. Count is approximately 13 beads per gram.
