Opening & Closing a Jumpring

Learn how to open and close jumprings correctly to avoid rings becoming bent & so that they close neatly with no gap.

Tools needed – Two pairs of either

• Chain nose pliers
• Flat nose pliers
• Bent nose pliers

Step 1

Start with your open jump ring.

Step 2: 
Hold the jump ring on either side of the open jump ring with your flat nose pliers and bent nose pliers.

Step 3:
Close the jump ring by gently moving the sides together in a back and forth motion. Keep moving back and forth. You will find the two ends will meet to form a neatly closed jump ring.
